Just in time for Thanksgiving, I share with you my Gram’s oh-so-yummy Pecan Pie recipe. It’s a family favorite…. and it’s easy too!
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup pecans (chopped) with 5 whole pecans for decoration (this is my touch)
Preheat oven to 450.
Mix all ingredients together and pour into unbaked pie shell. Fan whole pecans in center of pie, creating a flower-like decoration (you don’t have to do this, but it does make the pie pretty if you do).
Bake for 10 minutes, and then reduce heat to 325 and bake an additional 45 minutes.
Cool completely. Slice into pieces and serve with whipped cream.
