It's finally here!
The past year has been crazy and chaotic since I first sat down and began to draft the story of Cruz Moran, which eventually became “Saving Cruz”. His story came to me like so many others have….with a question I asked myself, and no answer. There was a story on my local news, about a car accident where the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The other two passengers in the car died, but somehow he lived. Hearing the story, I remember feeling so sad for that eighteen year old kid, then asking myself, “How could he live with the guilt of what he’d done?”
The answer to that question came in the form of ragged first draft, where I wrote manically day after day, attempting to sculpt the cold, hard, beautifully broken man that eventually became Cruz. As his story unfolded, other stories emerged…and thus the 5-part series of the Moran Family has now become my obsession.
Now that his story is out there for everyone to read, I can allow myself a moment of joy before diving into the subsequent books. It’s a crazy merry-go-round of constant to-dos…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In a wild roundabout way the Moran’s are much like my own family; fiercely protective, very affectionate, rich with history. I can’t imagine writing this family any other way.
The remaining four books will be released over the next year or so, and in the meantime I’m attempting to get my head around the idea of letting each one of them go, to make room for all my new ‘babies’….the stories I have sitting on the back-burner and the ones I’ve yet to dream up.
One final thought on this big release day of mine….October 4th was chosen as my release day specifically because of one thing....today is my dad’s 85th birthday. Happy Birthday Dad…I love you so much and I’m so very grateful for the way you support me in this crazy endeavor. I’m so honored to share this day with you.

“Taming Marco”, book 2 in the series, is due for release in early 2017.
